The Gothic movement of the 1970s had a profound impact on youth in many countries. It took root in the UK, especially in Germany. Goth bands have always added their music to this cultural scene and influenced the entire Goth culture. Dancing to the music created by these bands is an important part of the fun and entertainment that Gothic culture enjoys. Created goth bands with fantastic names such as Killing Joke, Southern Death Cult, Dead Can Dance, and Sisters of Mercy. With one of the most popular being Siouxsie and the Banshees and The Cure.
Their elders and peers do not appreciate many young people who choose to portray a unique Gothic fashion. These young people are being teased and harassed. Many young men dressed in gothic style are not sure what they look like. These young people all feel that the Gothic style gives them a character they can hide. And increase their self-confidence in the face of everyday life.
