Gothic costumes great influence on people during the old days

Gothic costumes
I wonder how many people have thought about wearing a gothic costume for Halloween. Gothic clothing has always been popular, and it was all the rage in the late 1970s. Many of the gothic novels and horror movies of the past influenced Gothic clothing.

The Gothic movement of the 1970s had a profound impact on youth in many countries. It took root in the UK, especially in Germany. The movement spread to the United States and many other countries in Europe. Goths, as they were called, listened to gothic music, and wore gloomy clothing from many old vampire movies.

The gothic bands that emerged during this period had a tremendous influence on clothing, hairstyles, and make-up. Which was an important part of gothic costume creation. The stage costumes worn by these bands had a profound effect on their fans. Gothic clothing has no set rules. It allows individuals to experiment and express their inner creativity. Popular colors used in Gothic clothing are black, purple, and crimson.

It made them of satin, velvet, and ruffled lace-like materials. Women design their costumes based on characters from vampire horror movies. Wearing black fishnet socks and gloves is very popular among young women. Men like to incorporate fancy frilled shirts when making masquerade costumes, like those worn by romantic poets.

Many gothic outfits are completed by adding accessories. Such as studded dog collars, silver buckles, silver jewelry, and, of course, classic gothic necklaces. Both men and women wore white makeup and outlined their eyes with black mascara and eyeliner. Red, purple and black lipsticks are popular, and of course, men and women wear black nail polish.

Every year there is a goth party in the UK seaside resort of Whitby. Whitby is the town where Bram Stoker set his original Dracula horror story. At this gathering, they showcased all the old vampire movies and many newer ones. Such as “Interview with the Vampire” adapted from Anne Rice's novel, and “Beetle Juice” by Tim Burton.

Goth bands have always added their music to this cultural scene and influenced the entire Goth culture. Dancing to the music created by these bands is an important part of the fun and entertainment that Gothic culture enjoys. Created goth bands with fantastic names such as Killing Joke, Southern Death Cult, Dead Can Dance, and Sisters of Mercy. With one of the most popular being Siouxsie and the Banshees and The Cure.

Their elders and peers do not appreciate many young people who choose to portray a unique Gothic fashion. These young people are being teased and harassed. Many young men dressed in gothic style are not sure what they look like. These young people all feel that the Gothic style gives them a character they can hide. And increase their self-confidence in the face of everyday life.

The culture of the late 1970s forced the need to consider perfection. With most young people try to show like models. But wearing gothic clothing could express individuality.

Today, the Goths still exist, but their numbers have dwindled. Most of these people no longer need to express themselves in gothic clothing in their daily life. They still got many of the same friends. Love to share the good old days through photos, and go to special goth parties. Those who share Gothic culture will have interesting stories to tell their children.
